Our Trip to Salzburg, Austria

We left Venice this morning at 10:35 a.m. Damon had to return to his work in Naples. Cydney took him to the airport for an early morning flight. We started out for Salzburg, Austria, crossing over the Dolomite Mountains. They are every bit as spectacular as those in the movie "Sound of Music".  After a very enjoyable and picturesque trip we arrived in Salzburg mid afternoon. We had room reservations at the DerSalzburger Hof Hotel and Restaurant. After checking into our room, we freshened up and took a bus ride to 'old town' for dinner at the Steinbrau restaurant. We had sausage, sauerkraut with potatoes. Quite a change from the pizza and pasta of Italy.

On our way back to the hotel we meet a gentleman, who was on the bus and on his way home from his work. We started a conversation with him and told him we were from Salt Lake City, Utah.  He asked if we were Mormons to which we replied that we were.  He than asked me "How many wives did I have?" I told him only one and she was the lady that was with me.

Our rooms at the hotel had a TV channel exclusively for the move, "Sound of Music" which plays non-stop 24 hours a day.  Savannah and Halle never tired of seeing the movie and have it pretty well memorized.
