Iowa City, May 2009

We had the opportunity of traveling to Coralville, Iowa to participate in Shefton's Eagle Scout Court of Honor. This is a photo of his Eagle Scout Project. A full scale model of a pioneer handcart. This will be on display at the Institute of Religion University of Iowa.

We are proud of Shefton and his accomplishments in attaining the Eagle Scout Award along with 26 merit badges (21 are required for Eagle).

On Memorial Day Weekend we traveled to Galena, Illinois on the banks of the Mississippi River, where we enjoyed the atmosphere of a small town which was the home of Ulysses. S. Grant, 18th President of the United States.

Our trip included a visit to
Dyersville, Iowa, the home of Field of Dreams. Grandma is sitting on the bench waiting for "them to come". It was an enjoyable visit to a movie set.

Amana Colony Golf Club

September 5, 2008, while visiting Alison and her family in Iowa City, Iowa, she took us for as visit to the Amana Colonies (an Amish Community) and on our return trip we stopped at the Amana Colonies Golf Club.  It was a very nice golf course surrounded by many trees and shrubs native to the area.

Wrigley Field, Home of the Chicago Cubs. We attended the game between the Cubs and the Phillies. Cubs 3, Phillies 2. Both teams are headed for the  2008 playoffs.
